"Empower Malagasy Women" is a general English version of "Zava-Manahiran’ny Vehivavy" literally and generally translated as "Women’s issues".
EMW-ZMV (Empower Malagasy Women - Zava-Manahiran'ny Vehivavy" is an association of committed men and women that aim to EMPOWER approximately 15 000 000 Malagasy girls and women enduring in silence different forms of structural injustices: education, economy, gender, cultural, social, environmental ...
The facebook page “Zava-Manahiran’ny VEHIVAVY” and the Youtube channel "Vehivavy" offers interviews and Biblical feminist studies that EMPOWER Malagasy WOMEN by naming and fighting against the abusive patriarchal cutlure silencing women’s voice that normalize domestic and social violence (physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual).
“Zava-Manahiran’ny VEHIVAVY” was inspired and created by Mami Brunah Aro Sandaniaina, in remembrance of her late father Jamoka Misetra (Scout totem) Brunaud Jean de Dieu Tsiketa (birth on September 10, 1956 – death on February 18, 2020) during the celebration of the Father’s Day in June 2024.
“Zava-Manahiran’ny Tanora” was a weekly radio program that Jamoka Misetra initiated to tackle young people’s issues at the National Malagasy Radio in Mahajanga, Madagascar in 1998. He focused on the written and oral histories and facilitated discussion to find the most appropriated responses to them.
